JAMIE McAllister's good form form Bristol City has earned him a recall to the Scotland international squad.

The City full-back's only previous appearance was in a friendly against Trinidad and Tobago in 2004 and the McAllister said that he 'relishing' the chance to add to his solitary cap.

Last week Geroge Burley said that he was looking for fresh blood to add to the squad and has called up Wolves striker Chris Iwelumo for the first time and is believed to be keeping tabs on Michael McIndoe and Lee Johnson,

"I'm delighted. I got a nice little phone call yesterday afternoon, and it's great news," Jamie told the official website,

"It's something I've been striving for, to get back into the squad. And now it's happened, it's up to me to take my chance. I never stopped believing I could get back into the team. It's one step in the door and hopefully now I can do really well and establish myself.

"I knew they had been keeping tabs on me, but it's just nice that I'm now back in the squad."

McAllister was delighted that he and several of his team mates were recieving recognititon for the way they were performing and hoped for more success to come their way,

"It's great. The boys have been doing really well and they deserve a chance. It's nice to know that they are keeping an eye on them, and hopefully they will get a chance as well.

"It's great and I'm buzzing at the moment.

"Every time I've been going out on a Saturday, I've been thinking about it, and I always thought I'd get my chance again. I've always believed that I'm good enough to play at that level."

On Scotland's prospects of reaching the World Cup in South Africa 2010 he said,

"I think we've got a good chance.

"We've not had the best of starts, but next Saturday's a big game, and if we can get a win it will kick-start our campaign."
