WOLVES manager Mick McCarthy believes that confidence as well as strength in depth will give his side a great chance of victory on Saturday.

The West Midlands club top the table going into the game with City this weekend and will be looking to extend their unbeaten run to eight games. Their visitors are unbeaten on the road and know that Wolves have only lost two points this season, drawing their opening game 2-2 with Plymouth.

The former Rep. of Ireland manager will be missing top scorer Chris Iwelumo through suspension but will have a relatively complete squad to pick from after goalkeeper Matt Murray returned from injury.

He told the official website: "It's all about competition for places.

"It would wet the appetite if all the keepers are fit but once that happens I'll let one of them out on loan. That's the intention."
