Millen has double target

Bristol City boss Keith Millen hopes to sign a left-sided player and a defender before the transfer window closes. Full-backs Jamie McAllister and Tom Williams are the only naturally left-sided players at Ashton Gate, with that particular imbalance within the squad not having been addressed since Michael McIndoe left to join Championship rivals Coventry 12 months ago. Millen is keen to improve his defensive ranks after seeing City concede 12 goals in their five matches so far this season. Should he run out of time, Millen will wait until the loan market re-opens the following week. "There is still a need to bring in someone who can play on the left and we are looking into it at the moment," said Millen. "It is an area we have talked about strengthening for a long time now and we have been trying hard to bring the right one in but it has been difficult. "We are also looking at defenders and there have been a couple of deals going on for a while now. We have the two-week international break now, so it won`t be the end of the world if we can`t get someone in before the close of business on Tuesday."
