Keith Millen has high expectations after taking over as Bristol City boss but insists he will begin his Ashton Gate tenure with a degree of realism. Millen was immediately installed as the npower Championship club's new manager on a three-year deal in the wake of Steve Coppell's shock resignation on Thursday. Millen finished his playing career at City in 2003 and has been part of the coaching staff since rejoining the club a year later. He started his coaching career in charge of the academy and was promoted to the senior team's assistant manager under Brian Tinnion in 2004, a role he kept under Gary Johnson. The 43-year-old finished last season in temporary charge of City following the departure of Johnson in March, winning five games and losing only once. After spending so long with the club, Millen is looking forward to the challenge but will not be making rash promises. "I know Bristol City fans like to see entertaining football. I've been here long enough to know what their expectations are and I've got high expectations as well," said Millen. "But I'm not going to come in here talking promotion and play-offs, I'm concentrating on doing my best for Bristol City Football Club."
