Lansdown told the club's official website: "He has probably had periods of frustration through the year but he has done very well. He is only 20 and there is a lot more to come from him and hopefully that will be with us in the Championship."
But the Robins are now keen for Keogh to commit to Ashton Gate beyond the 12-month contract.
Lansdown added: "We have offered him a new two-year deal because we feel he has done very well and has a big future here."
