New striker set to join Robins?

BRISTOL City look set to sign striker John Akinde from Ebbsfleet United.

Newspaper reports had suggested during the week that Gary Johnson had made a bid for the striker but was waiting for the clubs 30,000 owners to decide whether to accept the bid or not an Akinde watched City's game against QPR from the directors box and could sign for the club early on Monday.

The fee for the player is unknown but it is understood that the City manager has high hopes for the player who will transfer from the Blue Square Premier to the Championship.

Akinde is a highly rated prospect in the league and hit ten goals in twenty three appearances while playing for Ebbsfleet. City have yet to confirm the deal on their official website.
