Bristol City FC have joined forces with Queen Elizabeth's Hospital school to announce an exciting partnership plan to jointly develop a new £1m training ground at Failand.

QEH school have recently purchased 23 acres of land to take their school grounds capacity up to 40 acres. The investment from Bristol City FC allows development of a first class facility owned by the club but for use by school pupils. It will be part-funded by members of the City Foundation.

Club manager Gary Johnson commented, "If you haven't got a very good training ground you tend not to show potential players around fully. We've done the best we can with the one we've got but from 2008/09 it will be a lot easier for us. I'm very, very happy that the chairman and board of directors have committed to it because, as I've said, it's a major move forwards for this club."
