Parnaby confident ahead of Ashton Gate visit

BIRMINGHAM City defender Stuart Parnaby believes that clean sheets may be the secret to his side's success in the Championship this season.

The Blues kept Doncaster out on Saturday, with ten men for a large period of time, and the former 'boro defender believes that stiffling the opposition, as basic as it sounds, could be the way Birmingham gain promotion at the first time of asking.

Much has been made about City's forward line with the likes of James McFadden, Cameron Jerome and Sebastian Larsson amongst the top class options they have at the attacking end but Parnaby believes City need to focus as much on the defensive end as they do scoring goals. Ahead of their game with Bristol City he said: "It has to be an aim for us (to match the 18 clean sheets.)

"If we did that we would have a great chance, especially at home, clean sheets will be massive for us. Hopefully, we can take it on to Bristol."
