CHRISTIAN Ribero, the City defender injured on his debut in the Carling Cup has not been put off by his nightmare first appearance.

The Wales u-21 international is currently sidelined with a cruciate knee ligament injury which he suffered on his debut against Peterborough in the Carling Cup first round back in August.

It was feared that the defender would miss the rest of the campaign but in an interview today, Ribero revealed his recouperation is going well. He told teamtalk.com,

I am quite advanced in my rehabilitation and I'm at a stage where I will hopefully be jogging before the end of the month.

"I will definitely be back in training by at least April and I'm sure I will be playing football before the end of the season.

"Everything is going really well after what was a terrible injury, but it is coming along and I am seeing more positives day-by-day. My leg is getting stronger and there is definitely more muscle definition.

"I am looking forward to playing again. Depending on if we get in the play-offs and things like that then it will give me more time and increase my chances of playing again this season."
