The 18-year-old defender was making his debut last night but suffered a heartbreaking injury in the 2-1 win over Peterborough last night. Scans this evening revealed that the Wales U-21 will now be out for an up to a year after having an operation tomorrow.
City manager Gary Johnson said: "Everyone is gutted for Christian. It's hard luck on the lad, 20 minutes into his debut, but I know he will come back."
"It will seem a long road to recovery at the moment but we will give him all our time and attention. He's young, fit and strong and only 18 so he has time on his side."
