Scunthorpe v Bristol City

Last updated : 10 September 2010 By BBC Sport

Bristol City will be unable to give a debut to Danny Rose, as the on-loan Tottenham youngster picked up an ankle injury playing for England's Under-21s.

Striker Danny Haynes and defender Lewin Nyatanga remain sidelined, but midfielder Cole Skuse (knee) is back.

MATCH PREVIEW

The club whose manager departed after only one league match at the helm face the club that has this week been fighting to keep the much-admired manager who got them to the Championship and kept them there.

Millen wants City to kick-start season

The departure of boss Nigel Adkins would have been a blow for Scunthorpe, so Iron fans will be celebrating news that his proposed departure for Southampton did not go ahead. But the Saints remain interested, and Adkins' future remains in doubt.

Adkins defied the odds to lead United to safety last season and looks as if he may do so again. His team have bounced back from disappointing defeats - as they continually did last term - and have won their last two matches.

City, on the other hand, are struggling. Steve Coppell's early exit was an unexpected blow and his replacement Keith Millen must restore confidence to a side that is still awaiting a first league win of the campaign. A defeat on Saturday would make this the club's worst start to a season for six years.
