Striker Talks Ongoing

Bridges, who has been dogged by injuries over the past few seasons, is available on a free transfer having been released by The Black Cats earluer in the summer.

"We have opened talks with Sunderland and are hopeful Michael will be joining us," City chairman Steve Lansdown told the club's website.

"We would obviously want him to undergo a stringent medical. But he's a quality player.

"If everything is okay with the fitness, he could be a big signing."
