Tranmere V Bristol City at Prenton Park - Match Preview

Keeper blow for Rovers

Tranmere will be without goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams for the visit of fellow strugglers Bristol City.

Williams is in the Wales squad for Saturday's friendly against Finland and will be replaced by Jason Mooney, who has not conceded a goal in his two first-team appearances.

Rovers captain James Wallace is closing in on a comeback from a long-term knee injury after playing for the club's youth team in midweek but is still a few weeks away.

Evan Horwood could start after making his return from a groin injury on the bench in the FA Cup last weekend, while Akpo Sodje may also feature after suffering back spasms.

Bristol City will be without Derrick Williams.

The former Aston Villa defender is with the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad and misses out so Karleigh Osborne is poised to deputise in the Robins defence having been ineligible to face Dagenham in the FA Cup last weekend.

Head coach Sean O'Driscoll is sweating on the fitness of Joe Bryan who sustained a knock in their victory over Crawley while Scott Wagstaff is a doubt with a knee injury.

One player who will not be involved is midfielder Neil Kilkenny who has joined Preston on loan and seems unlikely to play for the club again.
