Who Will Borrow Brooker?

Steve Brooker continues his slow rehabilitation process from a knee injury that has required three operations. He hasn't played a competitive match for the first team since April 2007. It seems likely that with reserve games sparse he will be sent out on loan to regain his match sharpness. But which club will take him? Cheltenham and Leyton Orient appear to be the more vocal of the 20 clubs after his services. The fact that so many are interested is testimony to the ability of the player.

Meanwhile no squad number has been given yet to Aussie Nicky Carle. This is unusual, City usually parade a new player with a shirt printed with his name and squad number. My guess is the club is waiting for the number 10 shirt to become available once the inevitable transfer of Phil Jevons to Huddersfield Town goes through. Elsewhere Richard Keogh is "on his way home to see his family to think about some things". He needs to decide whether to stay and fight foor a place in the first team or move to somewhere that guarantees him weekly fooball.

Plenty of other rumours about, but none worthy of printing just yet..... watch this space.
