Williams on trial at City

Bristol City have handed a trial to former Peterborough defender Tom Williams. The much-travelled 30-year-old, who has also played for West Ham, Birmingham, QPR, Barnsley, Gillingham, Swansea, Wycombe and Preston, was released by Posh this summer. "Tom has asked to come on board and as we only have one senior left-back in Jamie McAllister, it's an opportunity to look at him," manager Steve Coppell told City's official website. "He'll get a chance to impress over the next couple of games." Williams is set to be named among the substitutes when City take on Torquay at Plainmoor on Wednesday evening.
