Swindon boss Andy King led the praise for striker Rory Fallon after his spectacular strike had earned his side a 1-1 draw against Bristol City in a fiercely fought out derby battle at The County Ground.
King's side were heading for their first home defeat in four months before Fallon intervened with 17 minutes remaining.
The substitute, who came on as a 65th-minute replacement for Andy Nicholas, appeared to have few options open as he controlled the ball on the edge of the area.
But Fallon had no hesitation in flicking the ball up before sending an overhead kick over goalkeeper Steve Phillips and under the crossbar from fully 18 yards out.
King said: "That is about as good a goal as I have ever seen.
"Everybody has been talking about Thierry Henry's goal against Liverpool on Friday but that was as good as that. If someone in Europe had scored a goal like that, then it would have everybody talking.
"We were all expecting him to lay the ball off but he had other ideas. It was a magnificent effort and I was very proud of my players’ performance in the second half."
Fallon could have added to his tally in the 82nd minute but Phillips did brilliantly to block his header at the far post from point blank range.
City had taken a deserved lead in first half injury time when Christian Roberts side-footed home at the far post from six yards out.
Strike-partner Lee Peacock seized on a mistake from defender Matt Heywood to cut in from the left and centre for Roberts to give goalkeeper Rhys Evans no chance.
City's brand of quick free-flowing football again caused Swindon problems in the second half and substitute Lee Miller should have clinched only their third win in eight games in the dying seconds but was guilty of a glaring miss.
Winger Scott Murray crossed invitingly from the right but Miller somehow headed against the left-hand upright from just four yards out.
Danny Wilson's side lost ground on second-place team Queens Park Rangers who defeated Grimsby 3-0 at Loftus Road.
