Attack Attack Attack Attack

Steve Phillips

Danny Coles, Tony Butler, Clayton Fortune, Craig Woodman

Bradley Orr, Steven Gillespie, Brian Tinnion

Scott Murray, Paul Heffenan, Joe Anyinsah

Steven Gillespie plays in the "hole" behind Paul Heffernan as City look to stun Pompey with their new found attacking flair. A kind of diamond formation with a flat back four then? Sounds good to I!! The worry is obviously Danny Coles at right back. Personally I would swap him and Clayton Fortune, and no doubt things will change during the course of the game. I'd hate to start the season with a centre back at right back. Hopefully Jamie Smith will sign permanently.

Pompey managed to beat Plymouth 5-1 on Wednesday with an impressive second half display. The Argyle fans I spoke to said that it was a "game of two halves" and that Plymouth "won the first half but didn't take all of their chances". Yeah, right. Pompey have named a strong squad for tonights game; Hislop, Ashdown, Guatelli, Primus, Stefanovic, De Zeeuw, Unsworth, Griffin, Curtis, Stone, Quashie, Berkovic, Berger, Taylor, Hughes, O'Neil, Yakubu, LuaLua, Mornar.

Aiyegbeni Yakubu was impressive, completing a hat-trick with one of the coolest finishes you are likely to see, dummying the goalkeeper into a dive before rolling the ball into the net. You could almost hear him saying "Easy now!" like Big Brother's Victor. I gather from Pompey fans that Lomana Tresor Lua Lua is on fire too. Let's hope that the fire is put out before the game.

CiderJar is bringing the whole family tonight, CiderDragon, CiderTipster and CiderPrincess will all be in attendance for the first time together.
