BRISTOL City's goalkeeper options look set to be boosted again this weekend as Gary Johnson confirmed that Adriano Basso could play a role in Saturday's game against Derby.

The club's player of the season in 2007/08 departed at half time against Blackpool suffering from a thigh injury and missed the midweek win against Peterborough when Chris Weale deputised.

Speaking at his weekly press conference Johnson told bcfc.co.uk: "I think Adriano's fine, although it would be difficult to leave Wealie out at this moment in time but Adriano is aware he's competing for one place."

"Sometimes with goalkeepers they work so during the week that a little rest can do them good."

He praised both keepers saying: "I think both of them are right up there with the best in the Championship."
