BRISTOL City reserves scored a comfortable victory over Sailsbury City last night with Steve Brooker scoring twice on his comeback.

The forward who has been out since August has scored three goals for the City first team this season and made a big step on the road to recovery by netting twice against Sailsbury yesterday.

Brooker came off the bench in the second half to take part in 45 minutes of a 6-1 victory in the Combination Reserve division.

Captain Louis Carey played the full 90 minutes as he makes a recovery from toe and knee injuries and could be in contention for this weekend's visit of Nottingham Forest. Brooker is likely to be part of the reserve squad for the next couple of weeks as he recovers from an achillies injury.

Lee Trundle, John Akinde and Nicky Maynard all played in the game, with the Welshman scoring City's first in a simple victory.
