Gary Johnson is confident that Bristol fans will be seeing plenty more celebrations from their record signing
A pleased Gary Johnson spoke of his delight at completing a "fantastic deal" on saturday in an interview with the BBC.

The manager has been disapointed that his club could not complete a deal to sign Michael Mifsud from Coventry but told BBC Radio Bristol: "It's a fantastic deal for us. It's great to have the type of player I've been looking for for a while."

"It's fantastic the chairman has backed my judgement again and we've brought in a player who's exactly what we need," he continued.

Johnson is confident that his new signing can add to the quality of Lee Trundle and Steve Brooker and with 35 goals in over 50 appearences for his previous club he has no doubts that Maynard will deliver in the Championship:

"He's a great athlete but he has got that ability to find space in the penalty area and that's what we want. There were a couple of Premiership clubs interested but he wanted to come to us."
