Akinde watched on as City drew 1-1 with QPR at the weekend after agreeing personal terms with Gary Johnson. All that was required this morning was for the administrative duties to be carried out and City took little time in adding the striker to their squad.
Akinde signs for an undisclosed fee believed to be in the region of £150,000 and has been given a three year contract.
He has been given City's number 28 jersey to wear.
