"He can play wide left or wide right, although the latter is probably his best position," City boss Gary Johnson told the club's official website.
"Birmingham have high hopes for him and are pleased he will be given a chance at first-team level.
"We are one wide player short in our squad at present, so it's great to have him on board.
"He's a strong lad who looks more like a striker given his height. He's quick, direct and likes to get crosses into the box."
