Bristol City hammered a 6 inch nail into Walsall's impending relegation. Looking around the Walsall sites this eveing it appears their fans have given up already.

Goals from Cotteril, Russell and Keogh saw City ease past the struggling Saddlers and have left an outside hope of a play off place. City are 8 points behind 6th place with 5 games to go. Unlikely but not impossible.

Speaking after the game boss Gary Johnson said

"It is optimistic to think that [we could make the play-offs], but the boys haven't given up on the season just yet.

"Our supporters are optimistic, but whatever happens we are gaining in confidence, the lads know what I'm after and have become a good team who can win football matches.

"To score three goals with zero against is pleasing and it's been a long time since we did that. I'm pleased with the way the lads have turned this season around - we are now in a comfortable position."
