City v Gills. FA Cup preview

Gillingham manager Ronnie Jepson will be without on-loan defender Ben Chorley for the FA Cup trip to League One rivals Bristol City.

Chorley's parent club MK Dons play 24 hours before the Gills but Jepson has confirmed that even if they are knocked out by Blackpool he will not ask Martin Allen for clearance for the centre-back to play at Ashton Gate.

That should mean Leon Johnson returns to the starting line-up alongside Ian Cox after fully recovering from a knee injury.

Fellow defender Brent Sancho has failed to train this week with a groin problem so is unlikely to be included in Jepson's 16, while striker Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu is sidelined with an ankle injury.

Bristol City manager Gary Johnson has no new injury problems.

Scott Brown (hamstring) made his return from injury as a substitute against Nottingham Forest in midweek while David Noble (hamstring) sat on the bench.

The Robins beat Gillingham 3-1 in League One just two weeks ago and Johnson hopes that result could have a bearing.

He said: "It's a different game in different circumstances but we could have the psychological edge after last time."
