Manager's comments after City's win over Millwall

"I'd love to say it was a kick-off routine practiced on the training ground, but no-one would believe me and they would be right," said a delighted Johnson.

"We actually put in some good challenges to win the ball and suddenly Scotty was clear. He scored a good goal at Rotherham in our previous game so his confidence was high to produce a good finish.

"After that we had more than enough chances to seal the result. But if you don't get that second goal you can expect some pressure at the end and I think Millwall had about six up front in the closing minutes."

Millwall boss Willie Donachie

"It was a fair result. We were beaten by a better team," he said.

"With our best 11 players on the pitch, we are a match for any side in League One. But we had two of our back four missing and it showed.

"The defence just froze at the start. But the midfield players have to take some responsibility for the goal too.

"After that we showed some spirit without being quite good enough."
