The 21-year-old forward joined City during for £2.25million in July and after scoring a hat-trick in his first game for the club he had added one competetive goal to his tally in a 1-1 draw with Derby and had impressed his manager with some confident performances.
Maynard spent over 10 years at Crewe as a junior and senior player and has fond memories of the club, but he admits he is looking forward to heading back to his old club. He told BBC Radio Bristol: "I couldn't have asked for a better tie to be honest, and hopefully I'll come out a winner."
Gary Johnson recently praised Maynard for his attitude since joining the Championship club and expects him to get a good reception from the fans. The player himself believes he will get a warm reception and said: "I haven't thought about whether I'll celebrate if I score, we'll just have to wait and see."
