LEFT-SIDED defender Jamie McAllister has insisted that Bristol City must win tonight if they are to get their promotion challenge back on track.

Defeat on Saturday left the Robins ten points behind Wolves who top the Championship and seven points behind Birmingham who beat Bristol City two weeks ago.

The defender insists that City can afford no more slip-ups, especially at Ashton Gate if they want to be successful, he told the Bristol Evening Post,

"The gap is already a big one and we can't allow it to get any bigger.

"We know we have to close it as soon as possible and that starts on Tuesday night."

The Scottish defender insisted that his side are good enough to compete again this season but continued by saying,

"We all want to catch Wolves and Birmingham if we can and that means taking all three points against Plymouth. We have to do that if we're to put ourselves within touching distance of the top two."
